Bicycle Benefits is a program designed to do three amazing things
- It encourages people to get outside to bike more
- It encourages people to bike to businesses to buy things and get great discounts
- It brings this super-cool bike program to Westbrook!
How it works:
Bikers purchase a sticker ($5) from DDW or one of these businesses: Portland Pie Company, Weekend Anime, Mast Landing Brewing Co, Ernie’s Cycle Shop, and Blaze’s Burgers. Stickers are applied to bike helmets. Bikers show their helmet to the participating business and get a free item or discount!
Examples of incentives:
- 15% off
- Free apple or banana with purchase
- Buy a pour and get half a pour
- Half-price bike tubes
This program incentivizes people to ride bikes into downtown Westbrook – a healthy and eco-friendly form of transportation. It also drives business to the downtown area so local shops, cafes, and restaurants get new customers.
Businesses can sign up for free and receive:
- a sticker to put on the window to showcase involvement in the program
- a sticker for the cash register
- 10 stickers to sell to bikers (businesses do not have to sell these stickers to bikers)
If you would like to participate in this program, either as a biker or business, email Abby!
Thank you, Dairy Queen, for sponsoring the start-up of this project!
